Privacy Policy

skinshi is local-first and does not store your inventory, credentials, chat history, or usage data on skinshi servers. Most app features talk directly from your iPhone or iPad to Steam, Valve services, CS2 services, and Apple where required. The optional AI+ beta feature sends limited metadata to skinshi servers only to execute the AI+ request you start.

In short

  • skinshi does not store your Steam inventory, credentials, chat history, or usage data on skinshi servers.
  • The app connects directly to Steam and Valve services to sign in, load inventory, and move items when you ask it to.
  • Saved Steam refresh tokens stay in the iOS Keychain on your device.
  • Chat with Shi uses Apple Foundation Models on your device when available and does not send your Shi messages to skinshi servers.
  • AI+ beta is optional and sends limited request metadata to skinshi servers for execution; we do not use it to build user profiles or store your inventory.
  • Purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple through StoreKit.
  • skinshi does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs for cross-app tracking.

Local-First by Default

skinshi is designed so core inventory management does not require a skinshi account, skinshi database, or skinshi-hosted copy of your Steam inventory. We do not store your Steam credentials, refresh tokens, inventory, chat history, or usage history on skinshi servers.

Network activity for core app features is between your device and the third-party services needed for the app to work, such as Steam, Valve, CS2 services, Apple, and public Steam Market endpoints.

Services the App Contacts

skinshi may communicate directly with Steam and Valve services for authentication, WebSocket sessions, Game Coordinator access, inventory loading, and inventory actions. skinshi is not affiliated with Valve or Steam, and their own policies govern how they handle data you send to their services.

skinshi may also communicate with Apple services for in-app purchases, subscription status, and App Store billing through StoreKit.

Chat with Shi

Chat with Shi is Skinshi's on-device inventory assistant. When available on your device, Shi uses Apple Foundation Models locally. Your Shi prompts and generated replies are not sent to skinshi servers for this feature.

Shi may help route you to app screens, local inventory views, item details, friend-inventory views, or pricing views. Those app actions can still contact Steam, Valve, public Steam Market endpoints, or Apple as described in this policy, but the Shi model interaction itself is local to your device.

AI+ Beta

AI+ beta is an optional feature that uses skinshi servers to execute AI+ requests such as Auto Sort planning and Rate My Inventory. If you start an AI+ beta request, the app sends only the metadata needed to complete that request.

Depending on the AI+ request, this metadata may include your written prompt, grouped item names, item quantities, broad item categories, selected item attributes such as wear or paint wear when relevant, Storage Unit names, capacity information, and the current virtual organization plan. AI+ Auto Sort uses virtual planning data before you choose whether to sync. AI+ Rate My Inventory is designed to use a flat grouped inventory snapshot and does not include pricing or Storage Unit location data.

AI+ beta requests do not include your Steam password, saved Steam refresh tokens, payment card information, Apple ID payment details, or any data needed to take over your Steam account. We do not store your inventory on skinshi servers, do not use AI+ beta requests to build advertising profiles, and do not sell your personal information.

AI+ beta responses are returned to your device for the feature you requested. We may process transient request and response data for execution, reliability, abuse prevention, debugging, and service health, but Skinshi is not a hosted inventory database and does not keep a permanent cloud copy of your inventory.

Data on Your Device

If you choose to stay signed in or save an account, skinshi stores Steam refresh tokens in the iOS Keychain using Apple secure storage APIs. These tokens are not stored in plain text in the app bundle and are not stored on skinshi servers.

Non-secret account details, such as Steam ID, display name, avatar URL, saved account ordering, free-tier usage count, and app preferences may be stored locally on your device so the app can show account state and manage usage limits.

Local quota counters, including free move usage, free Shi usage, and AI+ beta credits, may also be stored on your device. These counters are used to show limits in the app and are not a skinshi server-side user profile.

The app may also ship or cache game-related display data such as item definitions and icons. This is not your personal profile data.

Purchases

Subscriptions and lifetime purchases are processed by Apple. skinshi only uses Apple entitlement information to unlock premium features. We do not receive your payment card details.

Tracking and Analytics

skinshi does not integrate third-party advertising or analytics SDKs for cross-app tracking. We do not sell your personal information.

Children

skinshi is not directed at children under 13. Steam accounts and marketplace features are subject to Steam’s own age requirements.

Changes

We may update this policy when skinshi changes. The “Last updated” date on this page will change when the policy is revised.
